The island of Santorini - apart from its admittedly unique beauty - is well known for its unique white wines. The people of the island cultivate indigenous grapes for thousands of years and produce wines of exquisite quality & style. It is no coincidence that the world's best wine people praise the Assyrtico grape which gives some of the best wines in the world.
Among Santorini's wine producers, Canava Petros Nomikos - one of the oldest on the island - procudes 3 wines of these grapes, a P.D.O. Santorini (100% Assyrtiko), a Vinsanto and a blend of Assyrtiko with Savatiano (50 - 50).
Only a few days ago, Canava Petros Nomikos top scored at the "Decanter World Wine Awards 2013" with both Vinsano Nomikos & Santorini Nomikos.
This summer, Greece tastes like Santorini !!
Yamas (Cheers) !!
