The story begins back in 1989 when George Manolesakis driven by his love & passion for viniculture starts to cultivate in his privately owned vineyards - located in the outskirts of Adriani village, 7 km away of the city of Drama - carefully selected grape varieties perfectly adapted in the region’s terroir such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Roditis, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Syrah.
The enrichment of knowledge on matters of viniculture and winemaking is constant and the goal of this effort is the best possible quality grapes. The constant research also lead him to experimental cultivation of indigenous grape varieties some of which are cultivated in the region of Adriani for the very first time such as : Malagouzia, Moscato of Alexandria and Agiorgitiko.
In 1998 he establishes "G. Manolesakis" company with the distinctive title: ESTATE MANOLESAKIS.
